Ensuring Rigor and Transparency
Content: Presser Review is committed to maintaining high scholarly standards through a transparent single-blind peer review process. This means reviewers know the authors’ identities, but authors do not know the reviewers’ identities. This model allows reviewers to contextualize work within specific regional or epistemological frameworks, aligning with our mission to center knowledge beyond Western frames.
Review Process by Track:
- Flagship Articles (Track A): Undergo double-independent peer review by at least two experts. Initial editorial decision within 2 weeks.
- Critical Reflections (Track B): Reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief + one external expert when needed. Initial decision within 1 week.
- Voices from the Margins (Track C): Editorial review only, focusing on voice and novelty. Initial decision within 1 week.
Criteria for Review:
- Originality and contribution to knowledge.
- Methodological rigor (including PRISMA compliance for systematic reviews).
- Clarity and accessibility.
- Alignment with the journal’s mission (“Beyond Western Frames”).
Confidentiality: All manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share or cite unpublished manuscripts.
